By purchasing from Rhino Guard, whether through this website, by email, by WhatsApp, or in person by arrangement, you agree to the Terms and Conditions set out below.

2. General

These Terms and Conditions apply to all products sold by Rhino Guard, including but not limited to:

  • firearm safety devices;
  • SABS-approved firearm safes;
  • SABS-approved office safes;
  • genuine leather rifle bags;
  • firearm accessories;
  • related products.

By placing an order with Rhino Guard, you confirm that you:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • are legally entitled to purchase, receive, possess, transport, install, store, and use the product in your jurisdiction;
  • will use the product lawfully and responsibly;
  • have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any product purchased from Rhino Guard is lawful and suitable for the customer’s intended use, premises, firearm licence conditions, insurance requirements, import/export requirements, and local laws.

Rhino Guard may refuse, cancel, hold, or refund any order where we reasonably believe that the order, product, delivery, installation, export, import, possession, storage, or use may be unlawful, restricted, unsafe, non-compliant, or operationally unsuitable.

3. Products

3.1 Firearm Safety Devices

Rhino Guard sells selected firearm safety devices and accessories, including the following:

Iron Lock

Iron Lock is a wall-mounted biometric handgun lock intended for mounting to solid structures, such as walls or cabinets firmly affixed to a building. It is not intended for vehicle use.

Iron Lock is a firearm lock/accessory and is not a firearm safe.

After inserting your firearm into the Iron Lock, you must ensure that the firearm is fully latched and locked by gently pulling or wobbling the firearm to confirm secure engagement. If there is any movement, remove and reinsert the firearm until it is properly secured.

The customer is solely responsible for confirming secure engagement every time before leaving a firearm in the device.

Rapid Lock

Rapid Lock is a smaller mechanical handgun lock designed as a vehicle door-pocket mount using an integrated clamp system. The clamp is secured by tightening the nut. No drilling or separate fasteners are required.

Rapid Lock is a firearm lock/accessory and is not a storage safe.

Correct engagement requires the firearm to be fully inserted and positively latched. The customer is solely responsible for:

  • confirming that the firearm is fully and securely inserted;
  • checking that the firearm is positively latched before any movement of the vehicle;
  • verifying compatibility with the firearm and vehicle door pocket;
  • ensuring that the product does not interfere with windows, doors, airbags, wiring, seatbelts, trim, or vehicle operation;
  • checking clamp tightness and product condition regularly;
  • performing pre-use checks before driving.

In the event of a vehicle accident, collision, rollover, harsh braking, off-road impact, excessive vibration, or similar event, a firearm may dislodge or come out of the Rapid Lock, similar to other vehicle-mounted holsters or holders. The customer accepts this risk and remains responsible for lawful control of the firearm at all times.

Rapid Lock Vehicle Configuration and Variant Selection

Rapid Lock may be sold in different versions, including but not limited to:

  • right-hand drive versions;
  • left-hand drive versions;
  • firearm-specific versions;
  • handedness-specific versions;
  • intended door-position versions.

The customer is solely responsible for selecting the correct Rapid Lock version for their firearm, vehicle configuration, intended door position, and intended draw orientation.

For example, a right-hand drive version may be suitable for vehicles commonly used in South Africa, while a left-hand drive version may be suitable for vehicles commonly used in the United States. If the customer wishes to use the product on the opposite or passenger-side door, a different version may be required.

If the customer selects the wrong Rapid Lock version, wrong vehicle configuration, wrong handedness, wrong side, wrong door application, or wrong firearm model, this is not a manufacturing defect, incorrect item supplied, misdescription, or fault by Rhino Guard. It does not entitle the customer to a refund or exchange, except where required by law.

Compatibility and Fitment

Compatibility varies depending on:

  • firearm make and model;
  • firearm dimensions;
  • accessories fitted to the firearm;
  • vehicle door-pocket dimensions;
  • mounting surface;
  • installation location;
  • fasteners and anchors used;
  • the customer’s intended use.

It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm fitment, compatibility, and clearance before use in a safe, unloaded condition.

Do not use a product if it allows the firearm to shift, rub against wiring, interfere with airbags, obstruct doors or windows, or interfere with any safety or operating mechanism.

Accessories Forward of the Trigger Guard

Neither Iron Lock nor Rapid Lock is compatible with weapon-mounted lights, lasers, or any accessory fitted in front of the trigger guard, including rail-mounted devices.

Do not attempt to use Iron Lock or Rapid Lock with such accessories installed.

If a customer purchases a product believing it will work with accessories fitted in front of the trigger guard, this is at the customer’s own risk and does not constitute a defect, incorrect item supplied, or misrepresentation by Rhino Guard.

3.2 SABS-Approved Firearm Safes and Office Safes

Rhino Guard supplies SABS-approved safes, including but not limited to the following safe categories:

  • Rifle Safe – 16
  • Rifle Safe – 10
  • Rifle Safe – 6 Two Door
  • Rifle Safe – 6 Single Door
  • Rifle Safe – 3
  • Office Safe
  • Handgun Safe – 3
  • Handgun Safe – 2
  • Handgun Safe – 1

These descriptions are used as general product descriptions to indicate the type, size, capacity, or intended category of safe. They are not necessarily Rhino Guard’s own proprietary product names.

All safes supplied by Rhino Guard under these categories are SABS-approved, unless Rhino Guard expressly states otherwise in writing on a quotation, invoice, product confirmation, or other written communication.

The exact safe supplied will be the safe described in the quotation, invoice, order confirmation, WhatsApp message, email, or written agreement issued by Rhino Guard.

Safe Capacity and Suitability

Any safe capacity reference, such as “16”, “10”, “6”, “3”, “2”, or “1”, is a general guide only. Actual usable capacity may vary depending on:

  • firearm size and dimensions;
  • barrel length;
  • stock shape;
  • scopes;
  • optics;
  • sights;
  • magazines;
  • accessories;
  • shelving;
  • internal safe layout;
  • storage position;
  • the customer’s own storage requirements.

The customer is solely responsible for confirming that the selected safe is suitable for:

  • the type and number of firearms or items to be stored;
  • available installation space;
  • access into the premises;
  • legal requirements;
  • firearm licence conditions;
  • insurance requirements;
  • storage requirements;
  • security requirements;
  • the customer’s intended use.

Rhino Guard may provide general guidance, but the final decision remains the customer’s responsibility.

Safe Pricing

Prices for safes are not displayed on the website.

Customers must contact Rhino Guard by email or WhatsApp to request:

  • safe pricing;
  • stock availability;
  • delivery pricing;
  • installation pricing, where applicable;
  • product recommendations or confirmation.

Any safe price provided verbally, by WhatsApp, by email, or otherwise is only binding once confirmed in writing by Rhino Guard.

A quotation is only valid for the period stated on the quotation. If no validity period is stated, Rhino Guard may update, withdraw, or revise the quotation at any time before payment is received and cleared.

3.3 Genuine Leather Rifle Bags

Rhino Guard also supplies genuine leather rifle bags.

These rifle bags are intended for lawful transport and storage convenience. They are made from genuine leather, and natural leather characteristics are expected.

Normal leather characteristics include:

  • grain variation;
  • slight tone variation;
  • natural markings;
  • gradual softening;
  • surface changes;
  • patina development over time.

These characteristics are not defects.

It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm that the firearm will fit inside the rifle bag, taking into account the firearm’s full length, width, sights, scopes, optics, and any accessories.

4. SABS / SANS Approval and Product Classification

Rhino Guard supplies SABS-approved safes, including firearm safes and office safes, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

The customer remains responsible for ensuring that the safe purchased is appropriate for the customer’s own legal obligations, firearm licence conditions, storage requirements, insurance requirements, and intended use.

Iron Lock and Rapid Lock are different products. They are firearm locks/accessories and are not firearm safes. They do not qualify as SABS/SANS-approved firearm safes and must not be relied upon as substitutes for a compliant firearm safe where such a safe is legally required.

The fact that Rhino Guard sells SABS-approved safes does not mean that Iron Lock, Rapid Lock, genuine leather rifle bags, vehicle mounts, accessories, or any other non-safe products are SABS-approved firearm safes.

5. Legal Compliance

All Rhino Guard products are sold solely for lawful use by lawful owners and users.

It is the customer’s responsibility to comply with all applicable laws, by-laws, rules, regulations, licensing conditions, firearm storage requirements, import requirements, export requirements, customs requirements, and insurance requirements.

This includes, where applicable, laws relating to:

  • firearm possession;
  • firearm storage;
  • firearm transport;
  • firearm display;
  • firearm carrying;
  • safe installation;
  • safe use;
  • import and export;
  • customs declarations;
  • ownership;
  • possession;
  • licensing;
  • use of the product in the relevant jurisdiction.

Rhino Guard does not represent or warrant that any product is lawful to import, receive, possess, carry, store, mount, install, or use in every country, province, state, county, city, municipality, or jurisdiction.

International customers are solely responsible for ensuring that the product may lawfully be imported, received, possessed, stored, and used in the destination country.

The customer must ensure that any permit, declaration, licence, approval, clearance, or other compliance requirement has been satisfied before ordering.

Rhino Guard may refuse, cancel, hold, or refund any order where we reasonably believe that shipment, export, import, delivery, possession, storage, installation, or use may be unlawful, restricted, unsafe, non-compliant, or otherwise not feasible.

6. Orders and Payment

  • through this website;
  • by email;

Unless expressly stated otherwise, product prices, safe prices, delivery charges, and installation charges do not include:

  • destination-country import duties;
  • customs duties;
  • VAT;
  • GST;
  • sales tax;
  • use tax;

  • return-to-origin charges;
  • re-delivery fees;
  • international banking charges;
  • currency conversion charges;
  • any other governmental, customs, courier, import, export, clearance, delivery, or third-party charges.

All such additional charges are for the customer’s account.

For international orders, the customer accepts full responsibility for any additional charges raised by the destination country, customs authority, courier, clearing agent, bank, payment provider, or any other third party. Rhino Guard is not responsible for paying these charges unless Rhino Guard expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Rhino Guard reserves the right to refuse, cancel, delay, or hold any order where any of the following require review:

  • pricing;
  • payment verification;
  • stock availability;
  • product selection;
  • customer information;
  • delivery address;
  • legal compliance;
  • installation feasibility;
  • courier feasibility;
  • customs feasibility;
  • fraud risk;
  • chargeback risk;
  • operational feasibility.

For South African deliveries, Rhino Guard selects the delivery method or courier at its discretion. The customer does not choose the courier unless Rhino Guard agrees otherwise in writing.

Delivery fees may vary depending on the product, size, weight, location, delivery method, installation requirements, and operational feasibility.

Safes, heavy items, oversized items, installed items, and special-delivery items may carry separate delivery charges.

Free or flat-rate shipping offers, where available, may not apply to safes, heavy products, oversized products, installed products, special-order products, or direct-delivery products unless Rhino Guard confirms this in writing.

7.2 International Delivery

International deliveries may be available by prior arrangement.

International safe deliveries may be done through Aramex, subject to:

  • courier acceptance;
  • destination-country laws;

  • product size;

  • payment of all applicable shipping, duties, taxes, clearance charges, and additional fees by the customer.

Deliveries to the United States and other international destinations are handled from South Africa, unless Rhino Guard expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

No free shipping applies to international orders unless Rhino Guard expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

All international shipping charges, customs charges, import duties, taxes, clearance fees, brokerage fees, storage fees, inspection fees, courier administration fees, and similar charges are for the customer’s account.

Rhino Guard does not guarantee that all products, safes, or accessories can be shipped internationally.

7.4 Collection

Some orders may, by prior arrangement, be collected in person.

Where a customer collects an order in person, risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon handover or collection.

If a customer chooses to collect a safe, Rhino Guard will not provide installation unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

7.5 Safe Installation

Safe installation is only provided by Rhino Guard.

Rhino Guard will only install a safe if Rhino Guard also delivers that safe.

If a safe is:

  • collected by the customer;
  • delivered by Aramex;
  • delivered by The Courier Guy;
  • delivered by another third-party courier;
  • moved by the customer after delivery,

then Rhino Guard will not provide installation unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Installation is quoted separately unless Rhino Guard expressly states in writing that installation is included.

Installation is subject to:

  • product type;
  • delivery location;
  • access to the premises;
  • safe size and weight;
  • installation surface;
  • wall or floor suitability;
  • site conditions;
  • structural suitability;
  • safety;
  • available equipment;
  • availability of installers;
  • Rhino Guard’s assessment of whether the installation can reasonably and safely be completed.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that:

  • the installation area is accessible;
  • the chosen location is suitable;
  • the access route is clear;
  • there is enough space to move and install the safe;
  • all required permissions have been obtained;
  • the premises can safely accommodate the safe;
  • Rhino Guard is informed of any risks before delivery;
  • someone authorised is available at the premises to approve placement and installation.

The customer must disclose any hidden or relevant site conditions, including but not limited to:

Rhino Guard is not responsible for damage caused by hidden pipes, hidden wiring, weak walls, weak floors, poor structural conditions, fragile surfaces, undisclosed risks, or customer-selected placement.

Rhino Guard may refuse, postpone, or cancel installation if the site is unsafe, unsuitable, inaccessible, structurally questionable, or likely to cause damage.

If installation is refused, postponed, or cancelled due to site conditions, access issues, undisclosed risks, or customer-related issues, Rhino Guard may charge for delivery, call-out, labour, return transport, or other costs already incurred.

7.6 Risk of Loss or Damage

Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer:

  • when the courier confirms delivery at the address provided by the customer;
  • when the product is handed over to the customer or the customer’s representative;
  • when the product is collected by the customer;
  • where Rhino Guard installs a safe, once installation is completed and the safe is handed over to the customer or the customer’s representative.

Once delivery or handover has occurred, Rhino Guard is not responsible for theft, loss, damage, tampering, misuse, or unauthorised access thereafter, except where required by law.

8. International Deliveries, Customs and Import Charges

For international orders, including orders to the United States:

  • the customer and/or recipient is responsible for ensuring that the goods may lawfully be imported, received, possessed, stored, and used in the destination jurisdiction;
  • the customer and/or recipient is the importer of record, unless Rhino Guard expressly agrees otherwise in writing;
  • the customer is responsible for all import duties, customs duties, taxes, VAT, GST, sales tax, use tax, brokerage fees, clearance charges, inspection charges, storage fees, courier administrative fees, customs processing fees, re-delivery fees, return-to-origin fees, and any similar charges;
  • such charges may be requested by the courier, clearing agent, customs authority, tax authority, or another third party before delivery;
  • Rhino Guard does not control these charges and cannot guarantee what the final customs, duty, tax, clearance, or import cost will be;
  • the customer must pay these charges directly where required in order for the shipment to be released or delivered;
  • the customer must provide a complete and accurate physical delivery address, email address, and contact number;
  • Rhino Guard may refuse to ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or any address not accepted by the courier or destination-country rules.

International delivery charges paid to Rhino Guard are for the delivery service quoted by Rhino Guard and do not include destination-country customs charges, duties, taxes, clearance charges, courier administration charges, storage charges, inspection charges, or any other third-party charges unless expressly stated in writing.

If a shipment is delayed, held, rejected, returned, abandoned, destroyed, or seized because of customs requirements, import restrictions, prohibited or restricted goods rules, destination-country law, incomplete or inaccurate customer information, missing documents, failed delivery attempts, the customer’s failure to respond to the courier or customs authority, or non-payment of duties, taxes, customs charges, courier fees, or other additional charges, Rhino Guard will not be liable for any resulting loss, delay, cost, or damage.

Where a shipment is returned to Rhino Guard, abandoned, destroyed, or otherwise not delivered for any of the reasons above, Rhino Guard may deduct or recover any outbound shipping cost, return shipping cost, customs charges, storage charges, administrative charges, disposal charges, payment processing fees, courier charges, and any other costs incurred by Rhino Guard or charged by the courier, clearing agent, customs authority, or other third party, subject to applicable law.

Customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees, courier fees, storage charges, and similar charges are not refundable by Rhino Guard.

Returned items must be:

  • unused;
  • in original condition;
  • in original packaging where applicable;
  • accompanied by proof of purchase;

A return merchandise authorisation number or written return approval may be required before any item is returned. Items returned without approval may be refused.

This policy does not limit any rights the customer may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

Once a safe has been installed, it may not be returned unless it has a confirmed manufacturing defect or unless required by law.

Installation marks, drilled holes, anchor points, wall marks, floor marks, tile marks, cupboard marks, or site-related effects are not grounds for return where the safe was installed in the position selected or approved by the customer.

Special-Order Safes

Safes specially sourced, ordered, reserved, customised, delivered, or installed for a customer may not be cancelled, returned, exchanged, or refunded except where required by law or where the product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect.

Natural leather characteristics are not defects. This includes grain variation, tone variation, natural markings, softening, creasing, and patina development.

  • original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law;
